An Alsatian Dress In Blue Wool And Silk Corset Circa 1900-1920

An early 20th-century blue wool sheet dress with scalloped bodice. Strapless cut for the corseted top laced in front with eyelets and outlined behind with applied black velvet ribbons. The corset is in green silk damask embroidered with yellow roses and lined with ecru cotton. The long skirt in blue wool is fitted with pleats, organ pleats at the waist, and highlighted at the bottom with a silk embroidered velvet ribbon, probably from the Krefeld factory in Germany. No skirt lining other than a black and white printed cotton lining with a slit pocket on the right side. Hook-and-eye front closure. A few moth holes on the skirt, the only flaws to report. Good color and condition.
Dimensions: size equivalent 35-36 France. Chest 69 cm, shoulders 30 cm, waist 66 cm, hips 102 cm, height 140 cm, skirt circumference 153 cm.
