Long Berber Wool Scarf Or Belt Woven In Bras - Tunisia About 1960
Circa 1950-1970
South Tunisia
Beautiful long Berber scarf woven on a handloom from emerald-green sheep's wool and collected in southern Tunisia. Hand-woven with random white and yellow stripes and a twill weave effect. Long, hand-knotted bangs at each end. A fine example of ancestral craftsmanship handed down to the 20th century. Slight variations in color due to vegetable dyeing and a few missing bangs are the only flaws to be noted. No holes, no stains. Very good color and condition. Easy to handle for orientalist decoration or simply to keep warm!
Dimensions: 310 cm x 26 cm.
