Savoyard Armet (front Part) 16th Century

This is the entire front part of a 16th-century Savoyard armet, consisting of the gorget and the movable mesail. This is by far the most delicate part to manufacture, and it requires a certain mastery from the blacksmith. The authenticity of the object is absolutely indisputable. The patina is interesting, and the general appearance exudes an impressive "presence".
The lower part consists of a cheek and chin guard, in a single forged piece, and a riveted lower part.
The upper part or Mézail is also in a single forged piece, it is shaped like a face, with a mouth, eye contour, and "tears drops " which allow downward vision and ventilation. The edges are highlighted with lines.
The bolts that ensure the junction between the mezail and the lower part are later replacements.
There is no need to describe this beautiful object further, since the photos speak for themselves, the fact that it is already mounted on an iron base allows for a beautiful presentation in the "museum" style .
