18th Century Ottoman Powder Pod
This is an accessory worn by officers of the Ottoman army during the 18th century
The object is used to measure the quantity of powder that we want to introduce into the barrel of the weapon according to the goal to be achieved
This accessory consists of a hollow cylindrical tube, one end of which ends in a spout.
In this tube a piston slides, which is actuated by a graduated rod which comes out at the rear of the tube.
By pulling the rod more or less it measures in the cylinder a precise quantity of powder which there is then only to pour into the barrel of the weapon.
swivel ring at the end of the graduated rod allows the object to be hung on the belt.
This type of Ottoman accessory is unusual. It will naturally and inexpensively complete a collection of oriental weapons.
