Small oriental blunderbuss - Ottoman Empire, 19th early 20th century. About the size of a large pistol, this type of short rifle with a heavily blunderbussed barrel was widespread in the Islamic world, particularly in the Ottoman Empire. The latter is quite difficult to place geographically precisely; it may have been made in the Balkans or North Africa. Wooden stock with mother-of-pearl inlaid stock. Functional local flintlock. Silver-damascened barrel. The steels are oxidized. The counter-plate screw is probably a recent replacement. Length 48cmBarrel length 26.5cmMuzzle diameter 4cmWeight 1195gr
