The plaque bears at the top an olive branch and the initials in cannetille JC for Joseph Charles.
Under the bust are inscribed in cannetille 20. as well as a heart.
Below ALO (the 20 is the day of his date of birth) on the other hand the rest is an enigma!!
This central medallion is surrounded by a very delicate decoration of braces in cannetille and tiny faceted steel beads. Tiny white pearl flowers dot the cream-colored background. A frieze surround of the same work completes the motif which stands out against a blue rim. Curved glass with brass mount.
Note: Some imperceptible gaps in the decoration.
About Joseph Charles Bonaparte, the Eaglet, became Napoleon II for 16 days after the second abdication of Napoleon I, then Duke of the Reichstag until his death at the age of 21 in 1832.
