Stamp Box In Tortoiseshell And Vermeil
Stamp box in tortoiseshell, with lid adorned with finely chased vermeil decoration.
In the Napoleon III style, we see a central medallion with cornucopia and floral motif.
The lid is mounted on a brass hinge, the interior is compartmentalized into three compartments presenting a beautiful brown/honey veining typical of tortoiseshell.
We note a lack in the vermeil decoration, on the upper right frieze.(see photo).
French work from the late 19th century, boar's head hallmark.
