18th Century Painted Box Flower Market Scene
This beautiful, large round box is made of wood, the lid features a miniature painted flower market scene animated by numerous characters and a beautiful perspective towards an enclosing gate in the city walls.
The box's circumference is decorated with garlands of ribbons and roses.
The interior is painted in matte cobalt blue.
Fits perfectly, minor wear to the paint on the back.
Only the varnish on the top of the lid has been restored to reveal the original colors.
