19th Century Viennese Enamel Candy Box With Gallant Decorations
This oval candy box with charming decorations is exceptional. Indeed, it has a round window on the lid which was intended to receive a watch dial fixed from the inside.
It is decorated on all sides, outside and inside, with gallant scenes, cherubs in landscapes, views of castles and villages under skies in the colors of Aurora.
The hinged mount is in gilded brass. The enamel is intact, showing only wear at the points of contact with the bottom inherent to its age.
