Carved Walnut And Silver Powder Flask, Early 19th Century
This splendid powder flask made of (coconut?) nut is entirely carved with scenes from the Hindu pantheon in a rotating decoration, decorative friezes above and below the main scene are carved one with decorations of floral and leafy scrolls, the other with parakeets or parrots in foliage.
The bottom and the top are carved with two different flowers.
The unhallmarked silver neck is closed by a cork stopper fixed by a rod and a square nut in a silver mount equipped with a large ring.
Perfect condition, no cracks or missing parts in the decoration!
