The lid is decorated with a polychrome miniature representing Venus coming out of the bath, surrounded by two nymphs and a cherub.
The scene is bucolic and in a wooded environment.
It has a chased yellow gold mount decorated with polka dots. Paris hallmark 1780 - 1789
