"pool Of Light" Crystal And 18-karat Gold Medallion, 1900
This beautiful and rare hinged medallion consists of two crystal hemispheres—likely rock crystal—set in 18-karat gold.
The crystal creates a magnifying effect on the memento placed inside.
Its luminosity and the way it reflects light give it a magical effect, making it similar to pieces known as “pools of light,” which are highly sought after in the English-speaking world.
Hallmarked with an eagle’s head on the fixed ring (the hallmark is partially legible due to the convexity of its location; the 18-karat fineness was confirmed by a touchstone test).
