Crossbow Stand For Hunting Crossbow16th–17th Century
This accessory for cocking crossbows is muchr arer than the crossbows themselves. Its exact geographical origin is difficult to pinpoint, since the same models were used in Germany, Switzerland, and Italy…
The object is undoubtedly antique, probably from the 16th or 17th century, and was designed for a hunting crossbow.
It consists of three articulated parts: a system of double hook for attaching the string, the two prongs of the fork that are designed to slide under the lugs on the crossbow’s body, and finally the part used to apply leverage.
These items, which are the natural complement to a hunting crossbow, are rarely found on the market.
