Cinquedea
An Italian Renaissance *cinquedea* of exceptional craftsmanship, dating to the period—between the 15th and 16th centuries—when this weapon, characteristic of northern Italy, was most widespread. The blade features the typical broad, triangular shape with a central ridge, while the hilt is adorned with characteristic geometric motifs. The grip retains traces of its original gilding, featuring elaborate carvings that highlight the armorer’s high level of skill. Its state of preservation is remarkable given its age, with a uniform natural patina and an intact structure.
