Quiver
Quiver (utsubo) made of lacquered and gilded wood; the outside is almost entirely covered in fur (bear? wild boar?) except for the lid which is lacquered black.
This type of quiver—which was intended to protect arrows from the elements—was worn horizontally on the right hip. The movable part is known in Japanese as kamado.
