19th-century Chinese "famille Rose" Vase With A French Gilded Metal Mount

Welcome, and thank you for your interest in my collection.

Decorative Chinese porcelain vase dating from the Qing Dynasty, likely made during the second half of the 19th century, around 1860–1890.

The vase is entirely hand-painted with polychrome enamels in the “Famille Rose” style. The large panels on the front and back feature two different Chinese landscapes. One depicts mountains, trees, houses, and a figure in a small boat. The other shows a mountainous landscape with trees, buildings, a pagoda, and two figures. The small panels around the neck feature nearly identical landscapes.

The light blue background is richly decorated with stylized lotus flowers, scrollwork, and geometric motifs.

The vase was likely mounted in France on an elegant gilded metal base, probably made of bronze. This base is secured beneath the vase with lacquer or resin. The porcelain body is intact on the inside, while its exterior is concealed by the mount.

The upper porcelain rim has several chips and small chips. It may once have been surrounded by a matching decorative metal mount, which is now missing. The vase also shows normal signs of age and use. Please examine the photographs carefully, as they are an integral part of the description.
