Rare Miniature Loetz Vase Made Of Iridescent Glass, With A "candia Papillon" Design, Circa 1900

A charming and very small Art Nouveau vase made by the Johann Loetz Witwe factory in Bohemia, circa 1898–1905.

Measuring just 4.6 cm in height, this is a true miniature vase, also known as a “cabinet vase.” The golden-yellow Candia glass features a superb iridescent “Papillon” pattern in shades of blue, silver, violet, and turquoise. In the upper section, the pattern has been stretched vertically, creating a beautiful effect reminiscent of feathers.

The vase has an elegant ovoid body, a short neck with a thick, rounded rim, and a small circular foot. Its exceptionally small size and rich iridescence make it a particularly interesting piece for collectors of Loetz glassware and Bohemian Art Nouveau glass.

Condition:
The vase is in good vintage condition. The upper rim has a very slight irregularity, likely caused by an air bubble that burst during production rather than by subsequent damage. This feature is visible in the detailed photographs and has been factored into the price.
