Daoguang Period (1820–1850), large Chinese export porcelain punch bowl, Qing Dynasty. Exterior decoration in “Famille rose” enamels, featuring detailed reserves depicting palace scenes and pavilions against a background of typical vegetation and mountains.
The central interior decoration consists of a floral composition of peonies, roses, and foliage, typical of Western commissions.
The rim and borders feature an inner band of purple/pink trelliswork interspersed with small cartouches containing floral motifs in salmon/orange enamels and gold geometric patterns.
