Meiji period, around 1905.
Makuzu Kozan (1842 - 1916) was one of the greatest ceramists during the 19th century, appointed artist of the imperial household in Japan. His greatest productions were between 1880 and the beginning of the 20th century and were massively presented at major international exhibitions. His son took over with more modern production.
