Louis XIV / Early Regency-style Chest Of Drawers, Circa 1700, Very Early 18th Century
Imposing chest of drawers from the Louis XIV / Early Regency period. Circa 1700
Stunning front with arbalète carving, paneled sides.
Our chest of drawers features a solid frame made of solid walnut with a few wood “knots” (particularly on one of the drawers)
It opens with three drawers on the front. The two upper drawers have an antique lock; the bottom drawer has no lock. We do not have the key to this piece.
Beautiful bronze handles decorated with male and female figures.
This piece is in very good condition, as one would expect from a piece that has been in a home. It has undergone minor, routine restoration.
Signs of wear and old woodworm holes (long since abandoned!) are worth noting. A slightly dark mark is visible on one of the sides of the piece.
This magnificent piece, with its rustic and imposing design and superb patina, has perfectly preserved its authenticity.
