18th-century Officer's Sword

Officer’s sword from the Louis XV to early Louis XVI period,

Hilt entirely decorated with continuous scrollwork, fully gilded in the color known as Prussian blue, which was very fashionable at the time. The tang is covered with filigree alternating between thick and thin (slightly loose).

The blade features a central flat and two wider cutting edges in the first third, engraved with “VIVE LE ROI” beneath a crown, along with a full-length figure—a rare feature—all set within scrollwork.

The scabbard wobbles because the fabric or leather at the base of the blade is missing, creating a 1mm gap.
This sword is being offered for sale without any cleaning or restoration.

Total length: 103 cm; blade: 85 cm; scabbard: 89 mm by 92 mm
