Naval Signal Pistol, Model An IX Or An XIII, Modified T
Naval signal pistol fitted with a modified An IX type flintlock mechanism for percussion ignition.
This is a second production model, as it has four screws securing it to the wooden base.
The brass parts are stamped with a "g" and the naval anchor at the butt.
The stock is light walnut with some minor dents.
The mechanism is fully functional.
These pistols disappeared from ships after 1860. Only one was carried per ship, making them extremely rare.
