The guard is adorned with a large silver-plated cast brass eagle and a similarly cast and silvered crown.
The edge is stitched with multi-strand silver thread.
The straps pass through and are held by a leather thong (which cannot be removed without damage).
The pocket is lined with herringbone canvas and closes with a leather button.
There are some losses and wear to the leather, which, despite the presence of polish, is very dry.
