Black felt bicorne hat worn by a squadron commander or colonel of the 5th Dragoons.
9.5 cm diameter cockade in blue, red, and white.
6 mm diameter silver braid with three back-and-forth loops; the same braid is present at the tips of the peaks.
Height at the front (measured from the center): 19.5 cm; at the back: 27 cm; when laid flat: 27 cm and 36 cm
From tip to tip: 42 cm; the front tip is shorter.
Interior: 7.5 cm leather band; brown silk lining.
Button 23.5 mm in diameter mounted on bone.
Repair at the front tip (reinforcement added); this is often where it would break due to being gripped by the user.
