Of the type worn by many cavalry officers in the field from the Napoleonic era until the mid-19th century; the English cavalry also wore this type of trousers, including the Scots Greys.
These trousers have a wide front cuff and a belt loop at the sword attachment point, fastened with a button. Entirely handmade, the sheepskin has almost completely disappeared (totally dried out). These trousers were worn high (above the navel). The rear adjustment buckle is damaged.
There are 22 buttons on each leg, 5 for the central closure, and wooden buttons for the suspenders. The buttons are old but certainly not original.
