18th Century Bell Tower Clock
Wrought-iron clock from the 18th century.
The object's main feature is the presence of its entire surface coating. This coating appears to be a mixture based on tar and pitch. This fact is very rare, as most of them are stripped.
It has three wheel bodies, therefore striking the hours, halves and quarters, provided of course that it is connected to a bell!
Another rare fact on this type of clock: the presence of its original balance, three weights and crank!
The escapement was modernized in the 19th century.
Dimensions with its oak stand: 1m28 by 60cm, by 2m44 high.
Estimated weight, approx. 80 kgs
