Edmond Chauffrey was a major stained-glass painter from the second half of the 19th century, known for his civil stained-glass windows. A Protestant, he was barred from working on religious building sites and devoted himself to beautifying Gironde homes and Bordeaux shops.
He died in 1926, and was succeeded by his two sons.
