Gilt Copper Inlaid Iron Tsuba – Floral Motif – Marugata Shape – Edo Period Iron tsuba, marugata (round) shape, decorated with floral and foliage motifs inlaid with gilt copper. The work is fine and balanced, typical of the sober and elegant aesthetic of the Edo period (1603–1868). Presence of a sekigane in the lower part, indicating an old adjustment of the tsuba to the nakago of the sword. Unsigned piece, as is often the case with this type of production.
