Sabre d'Officier De Cavalerie Legere Hussard End XVIII Siecle
Light cavalry officer's saber made in Germany at the end of the 18th century.
Lion-headed cap handle, column guard, spiked auricles.
Leather fusee with original watermark.
Beautiful 83.5 cm hollow-panel blade with original engraving and gilding near the guard.
Basane-covered wooden turret with three brass fittings decorated with trais, brass saddles also worked with trais.
Presence of an olive to allow carrying on the gusset or a protective cover .
Restoration of the scabbard can be seen in the photos: the scabbard has retracted and the saber has difficulty fitting into the scabbard over the last 3 cm, which suggests that the saber has long been presented outside the scabbard, resulting in a blade in good condition for a saber of this era.
