PAIR OF PISTOLS OF THE BODYGUARDS OF THE NOAILLES COMPANY, THE KING'S MILITARY HOUSEHOLD, second model 1816, Second Restoration. 30012. Barrel type known as "Twisted Cannon" based on the Year IX model, without decoration or inscription, length 19.9 cm, length including the breech 25.8 cm. Each barrel is stamped on one side flat with "B" and "L". Lock plates of the Year XIII cavalry model with a slight upturn at the frizzen, signed "St Etienne Mfure Royale", stamped with the fleur-de-lis. Stocks with steeply angled butts, each ending in a straight rim surmounted by a pommel, serial number "249", "P & G" on one, "JM" on the other. On one of the pistols (the one marked "JM"), there is a visible marking of two initials, the first illegible and the second "B". Brass furniture, muzzle caps numbered "No. 249", trigger guards ending in a finial, brass butt caps in the shape of an ellipse decorated in relief with three fleurs-de-lis. Brass side plates marked "C. Noailles". Iron ramrods with nail-tipped tips. Overall length of each pistol 35 cm. France. Second Restoration. Very good condition, slight oxidation from use on the steel parts.
