SUPERIOR OFFICER SWORD OF THE COMMISSIONERS OF WAR, Restoration. Gilded bronze frame. Chiseled guard of a series of flowers with palmettes. Pommel decorated with a plumed helmet with sword and palmettes. Wooden fuze with mother-of-pearl plates, side parts in gilded brass representing a series of foliage. Golden brass ferrule decorated with vine leaves and bunches of grapes. Keyboard decorated in relief with the Arms of France framed with horns of plenty and caduceus. Triangular blade, 84 cm long, engraved on its first third with military and floral trophies, all on a blued background. Without scabbard. Frame in very good condition, a chip at the bottom of the outer mother-of-pearl plate; the blade has kept its blueness and its gold but with an oxidation called "rust flower". France. Restoration.
