Officer's sword of the National Guard, July Monarchy period, 1817 model. 19th century. Bronze mount with a cap of a rooster's head with an open beak and feathered neck. Single guard branch decorated with foliage, flowers and a naked vestal. Symmetrical and curved keyboard decorated with the Gallic Rooster with outstretched wings holding in its talons the spindle of Jupiter and the left paw on the earth globe, on a background of trophies of 4 flags and two lion heads. Engraved reduced type counter keyboard. Double quillon ending in a plamette. Checkered fuse. Flat-backed blade with traces of engraving and central grooves at 2 thirds.
