Chantilly Porcelain Snuff Box Gold Mounts Kakiemon Colours Chinoiserie French 18th Century

An 18th-century (circa 1740) Chantilly soft-paste porcelain snuffbox with a gold mount (tested as 18-karat gold). It features Kakiemon-style decoration depicting chinoiserie scenes; the piece is unmarked.

Note: Gold mounts are rare. Most Chantilly snuffbox mounts are made of gilded metal or silver.

Depth (front to back, including mount): 6.5 cm (2.6 in.)

Condition:
Good condition. No chips, cracks, or damage to the mount; however, some wear is evident, primarily on the exterior decoration of the lid and base. There are slight speckles in places.
