Tobacco pouch in shape of a Franciscan monk, Italy, late 18th century,  head, hands and feet are polychrome carved wood,  hooded bure knitted with gray glass beads with a black border; head and hood slid along a cord retained by brass rings, inside is one purse lined with cream lamb's bladder, that ends with two free feet, shod with sandals, painted wood.
Good condition for polychrome wood part, (except one damaged finger), the bead embroidery, which does not support the centuries as well, complete, has suffered, is to be darned in several places, the cord to be tightened. Similar on Getti Museum, (Gettyimages)
