A Very Small Snuffbox For A Woman Or Child, Solid Silver Rocaille Style. Early Reign Of Louis XV, 18th Century.
Adorable and precious little enameled perfume bottle.
The vermeil bottle is rectangular with rounded corners and guilloché on both sides with a wave pattern covered in translucent cream-white enamel.
The stopper is screw-on.
The bottle is hallmarked:
Two A's in rectangles, probably a maker's mark.
An illegible hexagonal hallmark, possibly Austrian, but this is uncertain.
This charming bottle, with its small size, the preciousness of the materials, and the fine guilloché work, makes it very precious and desirable.
