Pair Of Meiji Period Japanese Bronze Quail Attributed To Maruki Co
A fine quality pair of Meiji period Japanese bronze quail, one standing and looking to the left, the other preening its feathers, attributed to Maruki Co, late 19th century, standing on a wood base, apparently unmarked.
Measurements:
Height: Preening quail (excluding base): 10 cm (4 in)
Standing quail (excluding base): 8.5 cm (3.3 in)
Length of base: 29 cm (11.4 in)
Depth of base: 11.5 cm (4.5 in)
Condition: One issue found. The left leg of the preening quail has a break, only visible when the bird is gently rocked. If the bird was removed from the base, this could be easily restored. No other issues found.
