Pablo Picasso 1881-1973 - Large & Rare Print, Signed & Dedicated - "conversation Muette"

A large and interesting print, signed and inscribed in 1970 by the famous painter Pablo Picasso (1881–1973), who was a highly prolific printmaker; this print, titled " "Conversation Muette," is part of his collaboration with the famous Madoura Gallery: Originally, this was a 1968 print intended for a monumental project consisting of 347 etchings created by Picasso between March and October 1968 on behalf of the Louise Leiris Gallery...
In 1970, the Madoura Gallery in Vallauris offered to organize an exhibition of Pablo Picasso’s recent engravings and to create a poster based on the lithograph "Conversation Muette": before the poster was produced, only 100 copies of so-called “avant la lettre” proofs were printed (that is, before the text and exhibition dates were added below to make it the official poster): during this exhibition, which took place between May and June 1970, Pablo Picasso held signing sessions: See the last photo for a similar proof that went through Sotheby’s.                                                                         -This “pre-print” artist’s proof is cataloged under the number Czwiklitzer 365: the dimensions here are indeed the standard official sizes listed in the catalogs raisonnés, which are as follows:

• The size of the full sheet (Arches Vélin paper): 65.8 x 50.5 cm

• The size of the illustration alone (the black-and-white engraved motif):  22.1 x 32.6 cm
