Artist: Signature ?
A large, luminous Impressionist painting dating from the 1920s–1930s depicting a view of the port of Concarneau near the Passage de Lanriec: This is the inlet that separates the quay of the Ville-Close from the Passage-Lanriec neighborhood... The small rowboat in the lower left corner illustrates the traditional method used by ferrymen to transport residents and sailors from one bank to the other... In those years, there was intense maritime activity, notably involving large sailing vessels such as tuna boats and sardine boats preparing to dock or head out of the channel...
Note:
the painting is signed in the lower right corner, but the signature is difficult to decipher / see photo detail: everything about the quality of this work suggests the hand of an excellent artist, and it would be worth investigating to try to identify its creator... it clearly follows in the tradition of Lucien Victor Félix DELPY or even Henri Alphonse BARNOIN to name here only the most famous painters who stayed in Brittany and in Finistère between the two world wars / a note to research enthusiasts.
