Dagger Of Honor. Hilt Featuring A Warrior In Gilded Bronze

This ceremonial dagger is a fine example of 19th-century craftsmanship, featuring a romantic celebration of the values of the Middle Ages. The figureof the hilt  is a warrior, likely a standing Landsknecht, who stands his ground awaiting the enemy, both hands on his sword. The fact that he wears a command sash around his waist indicates that he is an officer.
BLADE: It is a lenticular-shaped blade with two edges that run in a straight line to the tip. Blade length =14 cm, width at the hilt = 2 cm, thickness at the hilt = 5.2 mm
HILT  : It is made of gilded bronze, in a single piece, including the cross guard. Depiction of a standing warrior leaning on his sword. The figure is clad in half-armor in the 17th-century style and wears a burgonet  helmet with central comb.
SHEATH: It is made of gilded bronze, with engraved decorationfeaturing flowers and fleurs-de-lis. It ends with a small ball.

It is clear that this weapon is a ceremonial piece, not intended for fighting. However, the finesse of the craftsmanship and the martial appearance of the figure make it ideal for adorning the display case or desk of a gentleman of good taste.
