Vincennes Chasseurs officer's saber, Model 1838, 19th century.
Lenticular blade with a central fuller, bearing the BALP hallmark at the heel.
Finely chased matte dark brass guard, both outer and inner surfaces; see photos.
Four flags, oak leaves and laurel leaves, stars.
Guard branch with central decoration; long-tailed cap with decoration and medallion.
Horn tang with filigree and twisted brass thread.
Metal scabbard with 1 ring for the scabbard strap.

Blade length: 86 cm
Blade width at the heel: 2.3 cm
