Large Chinese Bronze Vase With Engraved Design Xuande Mark
Decorative patinated bronze vase, richly engraved with floral, plant, and cloud motifs, featuring two leaf-shaped handles. It rests on an elegant, openwork, four-legged base in the Asian style.
The neck bears an inscription in Chinese characters, “大明宣德年製” (Da Ming Xuan De Nian Zhi), meaning “Made during the reign of Xuande of the Ming Dynasty.” This mark is frequently reproduced on more recent decorative objects and does not, on its own, guarantee that the piece was made during the Ming Dynasty.
