Carved And Gilded Wooden Candelabra Attributed To The Carlhian Company
A pair of large three-arm candelabra attributed to the Carlhian workshop, crafted from richly carved and gilded wood in the Louis XIV / Regency style, elegantly adapted into table lamps with candle-effect sleeves and crystal bowls with scalloped rims. Resting on an elegant, ornate tripod base featuring scrollwork and acanthus leaves, the baluster shaft, delicately carved with floral motifs and cartouches, reveals the exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail characteristic of this great firm’s creations, enhanced by the original gilding with its superb patina developed over time. In good condition with slight signs of period wear, this pair combines the nobility of carved and gilded woodwork with the refinement of artistic lighting, perfect for enhancing a console table, a ceremonial sideboard, or a mantelpiece.
