Art Nouveau Gilded Bronze Jewelry Box Signed Cassonnet
A charming round box (candy box or jewelry box) from the Art Nouveau/Art Deco period (early 20th century), crafted in gilded bronze (interior) and bronze with a double patina of bronze and gold on the exterior.
It is clearly signed "Cassonnet" on the side, a sculptor renowned during this period for his bronze table and display pieces (trinket boxes, collector's seals).
The removable lid features a remarkable relief decoration: a cornucopia spilling generous fruits onto a radiant background. The rim of the box is carved with a frieze of branches, leaves, and fruit in relief, typical of the naturalist movement of the time.
A beautiful collector’s item, substantial and of high quality, perfect for adorning a dressing table or as a gift.
