Description:
Circular metal theque type reliquary, closed by glass, containing a contact relic attributed to Saint Vincent de Paul (†1660), identified on printed titulus. The relic is set on a decorative background, in keeping with devotional productions of the early 20th century.
Saint Vincent de Paul (1581-1660) was a major figure of Catholic charity in France, founder of the Lazaristes and the Daughters of Charity. His cult spread widely in the 19th and 20th centuries, notably through the veneration of contact relics linked to his tomb.
The set is accompanied by its authentic certificate signed by Monsignor Henricus Lamiroy, Bishop of Bruges, dated 1935, attesting to a relic ex cineribus of the saint, sealed according to ecclesiastical prescriptions (silk thread and wax seal intact).
