# Rural art is essentially practiced by Berber craftsmen who are daily confronted with problems directly linked to nature with which they have an immediate and complex relationship.
They express their close contact with nature through the creation of carpets that turn out to be beautiful, spontaneous masterpieces.
In addition, rural carpets represent an important repertoire of individual experiences and shared knowledge about the physical reality of nature.
#Urban art is based more on symmetrical geometries that give rise to shapes that repeat endlessly. They generally take the form of medallions whose center evokes "Al Kaaba" (the Prophet's tomb).
Lines on a carpet, for example, suggest the ebb and flow of Muslims engaging in orderly, rhythmic processions invoking God.
Floral motifs, leaves, plants remind Muslims of the life promised in paradise after death.
These diverse decorative elements emerge from Islamic art and beautifully enliven the surface of Moroccan rugs.
Sixteen eight colors make up this marvel.
Slight wear.
