Cashmere Silk Rug, 236 Cm X 330 Cm, Hand-knotted Silk Circa 1970, Kashmir, Northern India

This superb silk cashmere in very good condition has a respective size of 236 cm wide by 330 cm long.
The quality of these beautiful natural silks from Kashmir is no longer to be demonstrated.
One can only admire the work of the medallion and the abundance of motifs, stylized field flowers, arabesques covering this carpet and its borders. The colors of great softness, mainly almond green, are composed of an almost wine red, pale yellow, pale blue and black creating contrasts while separating the patterns.
The thickness of this carpet is 5 mm, which makes it a flexible piece but whose ground resistance is stiffened by the density of the knots.
## The moiré effect is not due to stains but to the shine of the silk under the photo.
This rug in natural silk on fine cotton, hand-knotted around 1970 is in very good condition.
A slight wear gives it a beautiful patina that enthusiasts appreciate.
