"Museum, Kadjar Perfume Burner, H 56 Cm, Chiseled And Openwork Brass, Persia, Iran, Mid-19th C"
Rare and unique, museum Kadjar perfume burner, mid-19th century, 56 cm high, brass lace, intended to embalm a Persian palace.
This fine perfume burner of very large size from the Kadjar period, in brass, is only interlacing of foliage and branches, fantastic characters and figures, high-ranking princes, roses and other flowers, a summary of the history of the Persian.
Finely engraved and openwork, its sumptuous decoration is embellished with a dark old gold patina.
The foot decorated with rosettes of seated princes is enhanced with a striated ring and brings us to an immense chalice, where not a single square centimeter is free of engraving.
The headdress with six rosettes of Persian scenes and rose lace and interlacing is topped with a fretel as decorated as the whole.
An extraordinary piece, rare, in superb condition created under the Kadjar dynasty, in the mid-19th century.
Beautiful patina due to age, a great piece for an informed enthusiast.
The Kadjar dynasty or Kadjars (Qājār, Qadjar, Qajar, Persian: قاجار) is a Turkmen dynasty which reigned over Iran from 1786 to 1925.
## The diameter at the neck is 32.5 cm, diameter at the base: 19 cm, height: 56 cm for a weight of 3235 grams
The fineness of the carvings on copper show the dexterity of Persian engravers, often of Armenian origin.
.These marvelous coppers and brasses, tinned or not, were under the Safavid or Kadjar dynasties, an eminent alternative to silver and they enjoyed the same status.
This object has lived on as one of the centerpieces of a Persian palace.
A set of great delicacy, reflecting the taste and refinement of the Persian nobility during the Kadjar period.
These objects were used to burn incense of all types in and at the entrance to the lordly palaces to perfume the ambient air but also and above all to remove miasmas.
# The last photo shows a perfume burner that we own and present on our Proantic gallery, measuring 59 cm in height.
The object we are presenting is complete and extremely rare in superb condition, the brass lace being very fine!
