Nahavand carpet in hand-knotted wool around 1940/50, measuring 140 cm wide by 197 cm long in very good condition, velvet, edges and fringes.
A soft and shiny wool is characteristic and generally used for Nahavand carpets, which gives them a nice thickness.
It gives the patterns and designs of these rugs a strong personality combined with a great presence in a room.
These rugs are very solid, they often have a rectilinear design, partly inspired by nomadic pieces, but you don't find any like our model with softer, rounder shapes and skilful decorations.
An important medallion is located in the center of the carpet in the majority of cases.
They are decorated with leaves, flowers, branches and arabesques, and are framed by floral decorations.
The beauty of our Nahavand remains in the combinations of shades, peach, blue, orange, grey, red and beige, old pink and red which skilfully stand out against a midnight blue field.
The ancient city of Nahavand in western Iran is one of the main provenances of carpets in Iran.
It still produces Persian rugs of excellent quality today, with a very high reputation.
This rug has been professionally and environmentally cleaned.
