Water Fountain, Anatolia, Ht 64 Cm, Tinned Copper, Ottoman Empire, 19th Century
This copper object, formerly tinned, served as a fountain for ablution water from ewers.
The sturdy lid supports a finial featuring the bronze emblem of the Ottoman Empire.
Sunbeams rest upon a crescent moon.
Two firmly attached bronze handles are located at the neck for carrying.
A bronze tap with a wooden handle is positioned at the base.
This object is extremely rare and in very good collector's condition.
Dimensions: diameter at the base: 37 cm (14.5"), at the neck: 10.5 cm (4") - height: 64 cm (25") - width: 45 cm (17.5").
