Odiot By Hénin: 12 Solid Silver/vermeil Teaspoons, Napoleon Pattern, Empire Style
Artist: Hénin & Compagnie Pour Odiot
Magnificent set of twelve vermeil teaspoons, Napoleon pattern.
This "Napoleon" pattern, in the Empire style, is still manufactured by the renowned Odiot firm.
The vermeil handles are decorated with palmettes, cornucopias, and a caduceus. A blank shield allows for the engraving of a monogram or coat of arms.
The spoons are presented in a retailer's box.
Each piece is hallmarked:
Minerva 1st standard (pre-1973) for 950/1000 silver
Maker's mark: H & Cie with a rose branch and a star for Hénin et Compagnie, active from 1872 to 1974
The silversmith who crafted these spoons was Hénin et Compagnie, but they were a subcontractor for Odiot, as were other prestigious silversmiths such as Granvigne and Puiforcat.
